Newsflash
Addiction to alcohol, or alcoholism is a chronic, progressive and potentially disease. However, it may be stopped if the person will take the subject in a systematic treatment. Valuable assistance can also be found in the environments of mutual aid, such as the Alcoholics Anonymous. Unfortunately, the mechanisms that cause the disease that the vast majority of people do not want to be treated. Only pressure, suffering and threats or external circumstances may, though with difficulty clear the way for salvation.

<<Withdrawal symptoms are an act. Contrary to the orthodoxy, drug addiction is a matter of morals, which is why threats such as Mao's, and experiences such as religious conversion, are so often effective in curing addicts. http://www.manhattan-institute.org/html/_wsj-poppycock.htm By THEODORE DALRYMPLE

She was selling her body to support her habit. She didn't seem especially happy. I guess I'm not clear on why she would continue this life_style_ if it really was so easy to give up. It is not too difficult to find information about heroin withdrawal. If it really were all just a big con I would think that social workers and detox centres would have cottoned on to that by now.

deathly ill. Headaches, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle aches, sweats, they want to die. And the only way to feel halfway decent is heroine.
